Numerical modeling of mechanical behavior of a reinf orced concrete column-short corbel assembly strengthened by bonding a CFRF

Abstract In this study a numerical simulation is developed using finite element (FE) software Abaqus, to assess and simulate the structural behavior of reinforced concrete column - short corbel assembly strengthened by bonding composite materials The objective presented reproduce considered structure as displacements, strain, mode damages, cracks propagation, ultimate force, main reinforcements, obtained from experimental study. “Concrete Damage Plasticity” (CDP) has been used for modeling concrete. It combines damage plasticity models it reproduces failure modes that are based on tensile cracking compression crushing. perfectly plastic elastic steel was introduced in Carbon Fibre Reinforced Fabrics (CFRF) assumed linear orthotropic material. mechanical material, stage, defined “Lamina” properties were “Rule mixture”. “Hashin Damage” criteria also materials. surface contact between material through cohesive zone model. loading done displacement control all models.
